A Quick Guide for Teachers on Edualstic’s Data Studio Reports and Workflows
If your school has provided you with access to the Data Studio, you can access the Data Studio directly from your Insights Tab. The Data Studio helps provide key insights into individual student performance and overall trends. Please note teachers will only see the data of students on their roster and can filter by demographics such as IEP, free/reduced lunch, ELL, etc.
Reports that have a specific use for teachers include:
Data Studio Dashboard: This report offers a high-level overview of classroom performance, including assessment scores, overall population risks, and attendance.
Performance Trends: Similar to the Multi-Assessment report available to teachers with Edulastic Teacher Premium accounts, the Performance Trends report tracks student academic performance over time, identifying trends and patterns in achievement. The key difference in these reports is the Performance Trends Report’s capabilities to also display data from non-Edulastic assessments, such as NWEA Map scores, as well as data from Edulastic-administered assessments.
Whole Learner: This comprehensive report provides a complete overview of each student’s learning journey, including academic data, attendance, and other set markers – allowing for proactive support for students who demonstrate need.
Efficacy Report: Similar to the Pre vs Post Report available to Teacher Premium users, the Efficacy Report measures the effectiveness of interventions by comparing student performance before and after receiving support based on their benchmark tests. Users can review benchmark or screener data loaded into the Data Studio vs assessments given through Edulastic, allowing for more robust data analysis.
Attendance: This report presents attendance and tardy data of rostered students, allowing teachers to identify patterns and trends related to attendance and tardiness and can be reviewed by week or by month.

Let’s dive deeper into how a teacher may use the Data Studio to support their MTSS practice. To help with this practice, we’ll use Mr. Smith – our imaginary teacher who is experiencing very real frustrations.
Mr. Smith is a 5th-grade teacher who has recently implemented MTSS in his classroom as part of a districtwide initiative. He recognizes the need to use data to support his instruction and understand his students’ needs, but between lesson planning and grading, he struggles to aggregate the data he requires.
This year, his school has upgraded its Edulastic account to include Data Studio and Mr. Smith has been granted access to the reports to support his MTSS practice in the classroom. With access to the Data Studio, Mr. Smith is able to track his student progress more efficiently and make intervention and instruction decisions based on current data.
Assessing Prior Knowledge: At the start of the year, Mr. Smith uses the Pre vs. Post Report to aggregate data from his screener assessment. This allows him to establish a baseline for where his students are currently, and continuously monitor progress at each benchmark. Mr. Smith gives the screener to all of his students at the start and end of a unit, and he uses the report to understand what areas his students need more support in. When Mr. Smith sees over 40% of his students struggled with understanding a key concept, he amends his instruction to allow for more time to practice that skill as a whole group, ensuring his Tier 1 instruction is meeting the needs of his students.
IEP Meetings/Multidisciplinary Team Meetings: During each IEP meeting, Mr. Smith broadcasts the whole learner report on the TV in the meeting room so everyone is looking at the same report. With the data from this report, the team is able to develop a clear strategy for supporting each student. Mr. Smith documents the action plan determined in the meeting in the notes section of the intervention plan, allowing him to easily refer back to what they discussed and continuously monitor progress with the Whole Learner report.
Parent/Teacher Conferences: Mr. Smith knows attendance impacts academic performance, but he has struggled to communicate the importance of attendance with his students and their parents. Parent-Teacher conferences are coming up, so Mr. Smith uses the Attendance report to show attendance trends along with assessment scores for each of his students. He shares these reports with parents during the conferences. When placed along their student’s assessment scores, parents can make the connection between poor attendance and learning. He works with the parents to establish better routines and communication and identify changes in behavior that can help their child be at school more often.
