Images, audio, video and other multimedia content add a new dimension to your text-based assessments. In a pure paper-pencil assessment it’s difficult—or even impossible—to utilize audio, video and other multimedia content. Thankfully with Edulastic, all that is history.

Embed images and video in Edulastic

The standard Edulastic editor has the tools to add images and embed videos. Adding images to Edulastic assessments is fairly simple: you click on the Insert image icon, select the file and click on upload. To embed a video into any Edulastic question, you simply copy and paste the video embed code from YouTube (or any other site). This serves as a great way to provide students with supplemental resources that enrich assessments.

How to Embed Audio and Website Resources

Harry Dickens, technology consultant for Arkansas public schools—and Tonia McMillan, technology coordinator for Dawson Education Cooperative— came up with several hacks allowing you to integrate different tools and sites with Edulastic. In this article, I will share a few more ways to easily embed other third-party services and multimedia in Edulastic.

Embed sound in Edulastic

The best source of embedding sound is SoundCloud. SoundCloud is an excellent source to find quality sound files including podcast, book reviews, etc. You can also upload your own sound files on Soundcloud. Once you have the sound clip, simply click on the share link and go to the “Embed” tab. Copy the embed code and paste it into Edulastic using the “insert video” icon.

Embed webpages

You can embed entire webpages on Edulastic. Simply replace the URL of the website in the following embed code and adjust the height:
